OPM's Center for Leadership Development (CLD) offers Executive-in-Residence (EIR) programs focused developing individual executive leadership strengths and fostering organizational learning.
The EIR Exchange Program
Designed for Federal employees to gain unique insights into the leadership
development and education process. This EIR program is for career governmentmanagers or executives (GS 14/15, SES or equivalents) who serve as visiting full-time faculty members, education specialists or program managers. The purpose of this program is to help develop a cadre of agency experts in executive and leadership development and to collaborate with agencies on a variety of leadership and management issues and challenges faced by public sector organizations. Typical appointments are for 2 years.
The International EIR Program
Designed for senior government personnel from our nation’s international partners. The International IER is focused on imparting a deep knowledge of our democratic system and providing a learning platform for cross-cultural understanding and bureaucratic/administrative collaboration studies. Matriculation can range from 3 months to 2 years.
